S&M M.O.D. BMX Frame
S&M M.O.D. BMX Frame
The M.O.D. is James "Nutter" Knutter's signature frame, designed for all-terrain riding with serious trails and dirt jump capabilities. Features 13.6" rear end, 74.5° head tube angle, and low 11.61" bottom bracket height for stable handling in the air and on landings. Built from 100% chromoly with integrated campy-style head tube. Made in the USA and available in four top tube lengths from 20.75" to 21.5".
Key Features
- 100% chromoly construction – Full chromoly tubing throughout provides strength and durability for high-impact trails and dirt jumping
- 13.6" rear end length – Slightly longer chainstays increase wheelbase for improved stability during flight and landing consistency on big jumps
- 74.5° head tube angle – Relaxed steering geometry provides stable, predictable handling for high-speed trail sections and transition riding
- Low 11.61" bottom bracket height – Lower center of gravity improves stability in the air and during landings compared to higher bottom bracket frames
- Four top tube options – Available in 20.75", 21", 21.25", and 21.5" lengths to accommodate different rider heights and cockpit preferences
- Integrated campy-style head tube – Internal bearing cups press directly into frame for clean aesthetics and reduced stack height
- Mid bottom bracket shell – Positions cranks higher for adequate pedal clearance while maintaining low overall bottom bracket height
- 14mm dropouts – Compatible with stronger 14mm axles for increased rear wheel stiffness and durability under hard landings
- Chainstay thread-on brake mounts – Removable brake bosses thread into chainstays for clean brakeless setup when not running brakes (sold separately)
Technical Specifications
- Top tube lengths: 20.75", 21", 21.25", 21.5"
- Rear end (chainstay) length: 13.6"
- Head tube angle: 74.5°
- Seat tube angle: 71°
- Bottom bracket height: 11.61"
- Standover height: 9"
- Head tube: Integrated campy-style
- Bottom bracket: Mid
- Dropouts: 14mm
- Brake mounts: Chainstay thread-on (sold separately)
- Seatpost size: 1" (25.4mm)
- Frame weight: 5.1 lbs (21" top tube)
- Made in: USA
Compatibility and Ideal Use Cases
Requires integrated campy-style headset, mid bottom bracket, 14mm rear axle, and 25.4mm (1") seatpost. Thread-on brake mounts sold separately for riders running brakes. The 13.6" rear end and relaxed 74.5° head angle prioritize stability for trails, dirt jumps, and transition riding over quick street-style handling. The low 11.61" bottom bracket height improves stability during flight and landing but may reduce pedal clearance compared to higher frames—best suited for jump-focused riding rather than technical ledge/rail grinds. The 20.75"-21.5" top tube range accommodates riders approximately 5'7" to 6'1" tall, though individual fit preference varies. Best for riders who prioritize all-terrain versatility with emphasis on trails, dirt, and transition where stability matters most.
